As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, BETM provides asset management and optimization services to owners of generation and energy storage in North America, while delivering wholesale energy to utilities and municipalities. Our traders cover competitive power markets across New England, the Midwest, and Western regions, using a fundamentals-based approach that develops electric-transmission, gas network, and supply/demand models to inform market views and trading opportunities.

Since our roots in Citizens Power dating back to 1989, when the organization obtained the first FERC power marketing license and market-based-rate authorization, BETM has been at the forefront of energy market evolution. Today, as part of Mitsubishi's Diamond Generating family, we combine deep market expertise with investment-grade credit support to deliver superior performance. Our highly experienced team and the relationships they've built with clients, partners, and investors remain our most important assets as we continue shaping today's energy environment and supporting Mitsubishi's roadmap to a carbon-neutral society.

Puget Sound Energy

Puget Sound Energy (PSE), founded in 1872 and headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, is the state's oldest and largest regulated utility. It supplies electricity to over 1.1 million customers and natural gas to more than 800,000 customers across 10 counties in the Pacific Northwest, serving residential, commercial, and industrial users alike. PSE's core operations span electricity and natural gas distribution, with a service territory that covers a significant portion of western and central Washington state. As a regulated utility, its infrastructure investments and rate structures are subject to oversight by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission. Beyond its distribution business, PSE has active programs in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure - areas where it is directing capital investment as part of a broader shift in its energy mix. The company also runs energy equity initiatives aimed at ensuring that customers across its service territory can participate in the benefits of the clean energy transition. Technology plays an increasingly central role in PSE's operations, spanning grid modernization, smart infrastructure, and the systems required to manage a more complex and distributed energy network across its 10-county service area.

American Bureau of Shipping

The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is a nonprofit ship classification organization founded in 1862. It develops and verifies standards for the design, construction, and maintenance of marine and offshore facilities, with the goal of promoting safety of life, property, and the marine environment. It operates across more than 200 offices in 70 countries, employing surveyors, engineers, researchers, and regulatory specialists. ABS delivers three core areas of work: Standards development and verification: Setting and verifying technical standards that govern how marine and offshore facilities are designed, built, and maintained. Surveying, classification, and engineering services: On-the-ground verification by surveyors and engineers to confirm compliance with ABS standards across vessels and offshore installations. Regulatory and technical advisory services: Researchers and regulatory specialists working with industry partners to address technical, operational, and compliance challenges. The technical scope spans ship classification, offshore engineering, maritime safety standards, regulatory compliance, surveying and inspection, and marine environmental protection. As a nonprofit, ABS is structured around its public-safety mission rather than commercial returns, which shapes how its technical teams are organised and the problems they work on.
