We're on a mission to be the safe source for open source, and we believe that engineering teams shouldn't have to choose between speed, security, and scalability. Our founders - Dan Lorenc, Kim Lewandowski, Matt Moore, and Ville Aikas - built foundational open source projects like Kubernetes, Sigstore, and Distroless at Google, and they knew there had to be a better way to secure the software supply chain. So in 2021, we started Chainguard to build secure-by-default container images, libraries, and VMs that engineering teams can actually depend on.
What we do isn't easy. We maintain the largest catalog of minimal, zero-CVE container images, and our Chainguard Factory continuously builds and updates thousands of artifacts. But we're serious about our mission and playful about everything else. Whether it's eliminating 1,000 hours of engineering toil per year for our customers, helping them achieve FedRAMP High authorization, or simply making sure every line of code is verifiably secure - we show up every day to guard open source software so you can build what matters.
