The College of the Holy Cross is a highly selective, exclusively-undergraduate liberal arts college in Worcester, Massachusetts, founded in 1843. It enrolls more than 3,000 students and employs approximately 300 faculty members, making it, by its own account, the nation's only exclusively-undergraduate liberal arts institution with Jesuit and Catholic traditions.
The college offers more than 60 academic programs spanning the humanities, sciences, social sciences and the arts. Its curriculum is designed to foster collaboration, innovation and experimentation across disciplines, and it aims to educate students to become skilled, discerning leaders in business, professional and civic life. For technologists, the environment is one in which technical and scientific work sits alongside a broad liberal arts programme rather than within a dedicated engineering or computing faculty.
Institutional life is shaped by Jesuit and Catholic traditions: a community of students, alumni, faculty, administrators and staff engaged in questions of morality, meaning and responsibility, with commitments to ethical standards, the well-being of members, and service to the marginalized. The college has operated for over 180 years and maintains a single campus in Worcester, Massachusetts.
