In 2017, AJ Loiacono and Ryan Kelly founded Capital Rx with a singular mission: to transform the broken prescription drug pricing system that was costing patients and plans billions. They recognized early on that the traditional pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) model was riddled with hidden fees, opaque pricing, and misaligned incentives that prioritized profits over patient care. Rather than simply building another layer of technology on top of existing systems, they made the bold decision to become a full-service PBM themselves, developing their own platform from the ground up that would enable unprecedented transparency and efficiency. What began as a focused effort to revolutionize pharmacy benefits quickly evolved into something much larger. As they built their technology platform, they realized that to truly transform healthcare, they needed to address the entire health benefits ecosystem - not just pharmacy. They developed Judi®, an open, secure, and scalable enterprise health platform that could unify claims processing across pharmacy, medical, dental, and vision benefits. This breakthrough platform enabled the launch of Judi Health™, the industry's first Unified Claims Processing™ platform, which eliminates administrative waste and redundancies by bringing all benefits together in one system. In 2025, Capital Rx rebranded to Judi Health to reflect this expansion beyond pharmacy, marking the company's evolution into a full-stack health infrastructure platform that's building the digital foundation needed to make healthcare accessible, affordable, and transparent for all.

In 1920, the Sisters of Mercy opened St Benedict's Hospital in Malvern - Melbourne's first private hospital run by the order - marking the beginning of what would become Mercy Health.
