EF Johnson Technologies

About

EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. is a two-way radio manufacturer headquartered in Irving, Texas. The company develops, manufactures, and markets mission-critical communication solutions for organisations whose work involves protecting and saving lives, including public safety agencies, federal government bodies, and industrial operators.

Founded in 1923 in Waseca, Minnesota, the company is an independent subsidiary of JVCKENWOOD Corporation. It maintains a wholly U.S.-based manufacturing operation with a vertically integrated model covering design, production, and servicing. Its technical focus spans land mobile radio, P25 digital radio systems, and secure communications.

EF Johnson Technologies markets portable radios, mobile radios, and conventional and trunked radio systems under both the EFJohnson and KENWOOD brands. The company is one of only three firms in the land mobile radio industry to have developed a full line of P25 systems and subscribers, aimed at serving the mission-critical first-responder community.
