Feldera is an early-stage technology company founded in 2023 and based in Redwood City, California. The company has developed what it describes as the world's first fully incremental compute engine for SQL processing, a system designed to maintain SQL views in milliseconds at any scale. This work is based on the DBSP (Differential Dataflow Streaming Processing) framework.
The engine supports complex SQL pipelines featuring hundreds of joins, aggregates, unions, and recursive queries. A key technical characteristic is its cost model: the system maintains flat compute costs even when scaling workloads by a factor of 1,000. Its core is formally verified using the Lean Theorem Prover.
Feldera's technology targets use cases in fraud detection, real-time analytics, machine learning feature engineering, and security policy enforcement. The company's technical foundations lie in database theory, incremental computation, streaming processing, and formal verification, with its research recognized by a VLDB 2023 Best Paper award.
