Gitar is a developer infrastructure company founded in 2023 by Ali-Reza Adl-Tabatabai and Gautam Korlam, both formerly of Uber's developer platform group. It builds AI agents for code review and continuous integration, applying agentic reasoning and codebase-aware contextual analysis to problems that traditional static analysis leaves unresolved. The company was acquired by SonarSource in 2026.
Its flagship product, also called Gitar, is an AI-native code review platform. It reviews pull requests with full knowledge of the codebase and team conventions, diagnoses CI failures, proposes fixes and - when approved - commits them back to branches. The design emphasis is on high signal and minimal noise, and on integrating with existing DevOps workflows rather than replacing them.
The platform integrates with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, CircleCI and Buildkite, among other CI/CD tools. Technical work spans AI agents, code verification and validation, static analysis, automated bug fixing and code remediation. The company serves enterprise engineering teams across software development, DevOps tooling and software quality.
