Grob Aircraft, founded in 1971 and based in Bavaria, Germany, designs and manufactures advanced composite aircraft and supplies training platforms to military air forces, civil flight schools and other training operators. Its technical work spans composite airframe engineering, precision manufacturing, flight dynamics, simulation, aircraft certification, software and artificial intelligence, and ground-based training systems. The company has delivered nearly 4,000 aircraft since its founding and serves customers worldwide.
The product line centres on the G 120TP, a military trainer and principal training platform, alongside the G 115 general-aviation aircraft and the G 520 high-altitude reconnaissance and surveillance aircraft. Integrated ground-based training systems are developed alongside the aircraft for pilot training, and the company provides ongoing service and support for operators. Following its integration with defence-technology company Helsing, Grob Aircraft is also developing the CA-1 Europa next-generation combat aircraft programme, combining aviation expertise with software and artificial intelligence.
Engineering effort is directed towards lightweight, durable and aerodynamic aircraft design. Work across the company's programmes draws on composite structures, flight-test and certification, simulation and training-system development, as well as software and AI capabilities brought in through the Helsing integration. Industry verticals served include military and defence, military pilot training, civil flight training, general aviation, and reconnaissance and surveillance.
