In 1893, what would become HEXPOL began when two industrious brothers, Carl and Willhelm Gislow, returned to Sweden after working in the American rubber industry. They founded Gislaved Gummi, producing galoshes and eventually car tires. Over the following century, the company expanded into technically demanding production processes, including gaskets for plate heat exchangers. Acquired by Hexagon in 1994, the business unit grew rapidly through strategic acquisitions worldwide until 2008, when it was renamed HEXPOL and listed on the NASDAQ OMX NORDIC stock exchange.
Today, HEXPOL Group stands as a global leader in advanced polymer compounding with operations spanning the Americas, Europe and Asia. The company specializes in developing and manufacturing high-quality rubber compounds, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds and thermoplastic compounds for demanding applications.
