Hypervision Surgical is a medical technology spin-out from King's College London, founded by a team of clinicians, medical imaging and AI experts. The company develops AI-driven real-time intraoperative spectral imaging technology designed to provide surgeons with tissue intelligence during procedures, aiming to improve surgical precision and patient safety.
The company's core product is described as the world's first regulatory-cleared real-time intraoperative spectral imaging platform. It combines on-chip spectral sensing with high-speed AI analytics, processing at over 60 frames per second. The system is designed to transform standard cameras into tools that reveal anatomical, physiological, and pathological information during surgery.
Hypervision Surgical achieved both UKCA certification and FDA clearance in 2025, with the latter secured under a newly established AI/ML product code. The company was also admitted into the FDA Safer Technology Program. Its technical work spans medical imaging, artificial intelligence, spectral imaging, and real-time analytics. Strategic partnerships include collaborations with imec and ZEISS Ventures.
