We’re a diversified manufacturer that’s been making life more comfortable since 1883, when J.P. Leggett invented the spiral steel coil bedspring. What started in a borrowed space at a plow factory has grown into a global operation with 135 production facilities across 17 countries. Our products are all around you - supporting the mattress you sleep on, the car seat you sit in, the flooring beneath your feet, even the furniture in your home and office. We design and engineer components that make everyday experiences a little more comfortable, though you might not always see them.
Today, we operate across 15 business units and employ approximately 18,000 people worldwide. We’re organized into three main segments: Bedding Products, Specialized Products, and Furniture, Flooring & Textile Products. Beyond traditional bedsprings, our innovations now include adjustable beds, automotive seating systems, hydraulic cylinders, aerospace components, and specialized foam technology. We’ve evolved from “The Components People” into a company that conceives, designs, and produces a diverse array of engineered products - all rooted in that original mission to help people lead more comfortable lives.
