metergrid

About

In 2020, metergrid emerged from a simple yet powerful observation: while 53% of Germany's population lives in multi-family buildings, the potential for solar energy in these spaces remained largely untapped. The founders recognized that tenant electricity (Mieterstrom) projects were unnecessarily complex, legally complicated, and economically opaque for property owners. So they built metergrid - a comprehensive SaaS platform that makes decentralized energy simple, profitable, and legally compliant.

Since launching, metergrid has grown to over 60 employees and now supplies more than 53,000 residents with clean, locally-generated solar power. The company's end-to-end solution handles everything from profitability calculation and billing software to tenant acquisition and project implementation. Property owners earn 8-15% returns while tenants access affordable green energy, creating a true win-win-win for owners, residents, and the environment. With backing from investors like 468 Capital and partnerships across the energy sector, metergrid is accelerating Germany's energy transition by bringing clean power directly to the buildings where people live.

DI

Diagrid

We're a team building tools that help developers focus on writing code instead of wrestling with infrastructure. Founded by the creators of Dapr and KEDA, we know firsthand how complex distributed systems can be - that's why we created Diagrid Catalyst and Diagrid Enterprise. Our goal is to make AI agents and workflows reliable, secure, and actually workable in production environments, not just in demos. What makes us different is our open-source DNA. Everyone at Diagrid contributes to open source, whether that's submitting code, maintaining documentation, presenting at conferences, or helping users in Discord. We don't believe in vendor lock-in - our products work with standard open-source Dapr, not some proprietary fork. We've been contributing to Dapr since day one, and we're proud to be one of the largest contributors to the CNCF project.

KM

KMD

KMD is one of Denmark's largest IT companies, with more than 50 years of experience building and operating digital infrastructure for the public sector, businesses, and citizens across the Nordic region. The company employs approximately 2,800 people and carries end-to-end responsibility for systems that millions of people depend on daily - from energy distribution platforms built on Microsoft Azure to legacy systems at the core of Danish public administration. The technical environment spans a wide range: modern data engineering stacks built on Apache Spark, Databricks, Kafka, Delta Lake, and Azure sit alongside established enterprise software in Java, .NET, and C#, as well as legacy codebases in Delphi. Infrastructure is containerised with Docker and orchestrated via Kubernetes, with additional tooling including Elasticsearch, Redis, Azure Data Explorer, and a full Spring/Hibernate/WildFly stack. Engineers work across both greenfield cloud-native development and the maintenance of high-stakes systems where stability is non-negotiable. Development is organised into cross-functional teams working in two-week sprints, with each team taking ownership of features from business requirements through to production deployment. The approach reflects a deliberate balance: the accountability and rigour expected at enterprise scale, combined with the autonomy typical of smaller, focused product teams. KMD's industry verticals include government services, public-facing citizen platforms, private-sector enterprise software, and energy distribution. The company is headquartered in Denmark and led by CEO Thomas Jul.
