Omnisent

About

Omnisent is a Munich-based deep-tech startup, founded in late 2024, that develops passive acoustic AI systems for drone detection and localization. Its technology is designed for defense forces and homeland security operators working in contested environments where GPS is unavailable or electronic warfare is a factor.

The company's core stack combines three components: distributed acoustic AI sensor networks, proprietary ultra-low-power sonic hardware, and a foundation model for non-speech audio called the Large Acoustic Model (LAM). The hardware nodes operate on battery power for over a year, can be deployed - including from UAVs - in under ten minutes, and are designed to run silently without emissions. The distributed network architecture uses overlapping nodes to achieve 99.9% uptime and can scale to any site size. The LAM underpins real-time detection, classification, and localization of acoustic events across the network.

Technical domains the company works across include:

  • Acoustic AI and foundation models for non-speech audio
  • Edge and embedded ultra-low-power hardware
  • Distributed sensor networks
  • UAV-deployable sensing systems
  • Acoustic localization
  • Jam-resistant, GPS-denied operation

Omnisent raised $3 million in pre-seed funding led by Atlantic Labs and participates in the Cambridge Accelerate Plus venture program. The company is currently hiring across engineering disciplines and is scaling its technology toward global deployment.
