PQShield is a cryptography company founded in 2018. It originated as the largest spinout from Oxford University's Mathematical Institute. The firm develops cryptographic foundations and product suites designed to protect sensitive data against the future threat posed by quantum computers.
The company's technical work spans post-quantum cryptography, hardware IP, software libraries, and cloud solutions. It was the first cybersecurity company to develop quantum-safe cryptography implemented on chips, in applications, and in the cloud. The team includes co-authors of the global NIST post-quantum cryptography standards.
PQShield's solutions are applied across semiconductors, military and aerospace, identity and payment technology, telecommunications, automotive, and industrial IoT sectors. The company advises governments, regulators, and industry bodies such as the World Economic Forum and European Parliament on quantum-safe security.
