Qblox builds control systems for quantum computers. Its hardware generates, measures and synchronises high-frequency analog signals that control qubits and read out their state - the electronics layer that sits between a quantum processor and the software operating it.
The company's main product is the Cluster platform, a modular stack that integrates control, readout, timing and source-and-measurement modules in a single synchronised system for qubit control and readout. The Qblox Scheduler is accompanying software that simplifies the workflows used to operate the Cluster. The systems support three qubit architectures: superconducting qubits, semiconductor spin qubits and color centres.
Engineering work spans electronics, FPGA and RTL design, embedded software, verification, physics and customer applications. The technical focus areas include quantum control electronics, high-frequency analog signal generation and measurement, signal synchronisation, fast feedback systems and low-noise precision instrumentation. Teams are multidisciplinary and work across those disciplines rather than in isolation.
Qblox supplies research laboratories, universities, quantum computer builders and industrial partners worldwide, with close collaboration on both hardware and applications. The stated direction of the company is fault-tolerant quantum computing and the scaling up of quantum systems.
