In 2015, our founders Simón Borrero and Sebastian Mejía noticed a gap in Latin American cities: delivery logistics were complicated, and deliveries could take days. They launched Rappi as a grocery delivery app in Colombia, but quickly realized the opportunity was much bigger. What started as a simple delivery service evolved into Latin America's first super-app - a platform where users can order food, groceries, pharmacy items, and even request help with errands like withdrawing cash or paying bills. The vision was clear: make cities more efficient, improve quality of life, and accelerate e-commerce adoption across the region.
Today, Rappi operates in nine Latin American countries and became Colombia's first unicorn startup, reaching a $1 billion valuation. Our network of Rappitenderos - couriers on bikes and motorbikes - fulfill nearly three orders per minute, connecting users with everything from restaurant meals to financial services through RappiPay. We've built a platform with a "do-good" mentality, creating flexible earning opportunities for thousands while giving small businesses expanded reach. From the famous RappiFavor concierge service to 10-minute grocery delivery via Rappi Turbo, we continue to transform how people across Latin America access goods and services.
