Sightline Intelligence develops AI-enabled onboard video processing technology for advanced camera systems used in mission-critical applications. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Portland, Oregon, the company builds real-time, edge-based video processing and AI tools that run directly on the camera system, removing cloud dependency and the latency risk that comes with it. Its products are deployed across UAS gimbals, PTZ camera systems, unmanned vehicles and security applications, with customers among defence, unmanned-aerial, autonomous-vehicle, security and gimbal-manufacturing firms.
The technical work spans several domains: AI-enabled video processing, edge computing, computer vision, image stabilization, multi-target tracking, AI target recognition and SWaP-optimized embedded systems. Product capabilities include onboard video processing described as SWaP-optimized (size, weight and power) with real-time edge processing; automated target recognition; image stabilization for advanced camera systems; simultaneous multi-target tracking in video feeds; and precision target acquisition for defence and security cameras.
The company has been in operation since 2007 and describes itself as a global leader in AI-enabled onboard video processing for advanced camera systems, with a global deployment footprint. It was acquired by Acron Technologies and has since integrated into the defence and autonomous systems industry. The business was formerly known as SightLine Applications and rebranded to Sightline Intelligence to reflect an expanded mission and set of capabilities in defence technology.
