Sonatus builds an AI-driven software-defined vehicle platform that changes how cars are built, updated and experienced across their lifecycle. The company's software runs in millions of vehicles in production today, and it is used by customers in the automotive and mobility sectors, including OEM vehicle manufacturing. Its technical work spans vehicle software platforms, over-the-air updates and lifecycle software, AI-driven automotive software and production embedded systems.
The company employs more than 250 people across seven locations: Sunnyvale, Dublin, Shanghai, Seoul, Taipei, Tokyo and Paris. Teams are organised around cross-functional work on complex vehicle software problems, and engineers ship code that reaches production vehicles. A garage lab is used to test innovations before they are deployed.
Sonatus describes its operating style as prioritising the shipment of impactful products over process, while maintaining startup velocity as it grows. Its four stated values are to lead future innovation, drive for customer success, execute on commitments and practise inclusive collaboration. The company has been recognised by Forbes as a top startup employer.
