Southcentral Foundation is an Alaska Native-owned nonprofit health care corporation. Founded in 1982 and headquartered in the Anchorage Service Unit, it delivers comprehensive outpatient and inpatient regional health services to more than 70,000 Alaska Native and Native American people. The organization employs more than 3,000 people across over 40 health clinics and facilities throughout Alaska, running more than 80 health programs.
The corporation operates the Nuka System of Care, an innovative model of health care redesign recognized worldwide. The system earned the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in both 2011 and 2017. Southcentral Foundation’s mission is focused on working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services, with a vision centered on a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness.
