Southeast Health

About

Southeast Health is a not-for-profit, community-based academic health system founded in 1957 and governed by the Houston County Health Care Authority. It operates across southeast Alabama, southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle, serving a population of more than 460,000 residents. The system provides a combination of clinical care, medical education, and regional specialty programs.

The system's core is its Medical Center, a 420-bed regional referral hub and teaching hospital that provides comprehensive stroke, trauma, and chest pain care along with residency programs. It also operates the Medical Group, a network of primary care and specialty clinics, and the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM), the state's first osteopathic medical school. Additional entities within the system include the Statera Network and a supporting Foundation.

Technology roles within Southeast Health span several domains. The system's technical work supports clinical care delivery, healthcare network operations, and medical education. This includes the infrastructure required to run a large regional hospital, a multi-site clinic network, and a medical school that trains students from across the nation.
