Spirit AeroSystems designs and manufactures large, complex aerostructures - fuselages, wings, pylons, nacelles, struts and fairings - for commercial aircraft, defense platforms, business jets and regional aircraft. The company works across composite and metallic materials, with technical activity spanning aerostructures design and manufacturing, fuselage systems, propulsion systems, wing systems and military aerostructures. Its operations are organised into three segments: fuselage systems, propulsion systems and wing systems.
Programmes supported include Airbus's A220, A320, A350 and A380, and Boeing's 737, 747-8, 777X, 787, P-8A and KC-46A. Military work covers the CH-53K King Stallion and the B-21 Raider. Engineering roles touch structural design, materials processes and high-rate manufacturing of large assemblies.
Founded in 2005 as an independent business, Spirit AeroSystems has grown through acquisitions and new production facilities. On December 8th 2025 it was acquired by The Boeing Company and now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary. Its footprint spans North America, Europe, Asia and North Africa.
