St Vincent's Health Australia is a not-for-profit health and aged care provider operating across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. Founded in 1857, the organisation now employs nearly 30,000 clinicians, care providers, researchers, support workers and administrators, handling more than one million patient and resident contacts annually alongside 300,000 admissions and 132,000 emergency department presentations.
The organisation delivers hospital care through two major inner-city health networks in Melbourne and Sydney, alongside a network of ten private hospitals and 25 aged care facilities. It also operates virtual and home care services, conducting close to 200,000 in-home care interactions annually. St Vincent's provides specialised services in addiction treatment, harm reduction, HIV/AIDS care and homeless health, with particular historical significance in establishing Australia's first methadone clinic, needle exchange service and dedicated HIV/AIDS ward.
