Our founders - Dan Lorenc, Kim Lewandowski, Matt Moore, and Ville Aikas - built foundational open source projects like Kubernetes, Sigstore, and Distroless at Google, and they knew there had to be a better way to secure the software supply chain. So in 2021, we started Chainguard to build secure-by-default container images, libraries, and VMs that engineering teams can actually depend on. What we do isn't easy. We maintain the largest catalog of minimal, zero-CVE container images, and our Chainguard Factory continuously builds and updates thousands of artifacts. But we're serious about our mission and playful about everything else.
