Wincent builds high-frequency trading systems for cryptocurrency markets. Founded in 2017 and based in Bratislava, Slovakia, the firm develops its trading infrastructure in-house, with engineers, traders and quantitative researchers working on the same systems. Its platforms execute thousands of trades per hour, accounting for roughly 1% of global crypto trading volume - about $5 billion a day.
The technical work spans low-latency software engineering, algorithmic trading, quantitative finance and crypto market infrastructure. Deployment practices are unusually fast: the company says every line of code is pushed into production within minutes. Self-funded and without venture capital backing, Wincent employs around 150 people and has grown from Bratislava rather than from the more conventional financial centres of London or Amsterdam.
Team members have come from companies including Amazon and Google, as well as from leading universities, though the firm describes many of its builders as self-taught without traditional finance pedigrees. The stated culture prizes performance, precision and transparency over office politics, with a shared focus on speed in crypto markets.
