Ajax is an AI-native legal technology company founded in 2022 by brothers Jack and Alex Weinberger, headquartered in New York. Its core product is an automated timekeeping platform for law firms. The system passively captures lawyers' work across documents, email, browser activity, calls, calendars, Zoom and Teams, then applies large language models and activity recognition to match activities to clients and matters and generate detailed, OCG-compliant time entries in each attorney's preferred style.
The engineering work spans several technical domains: large language models, activity recognition and matching, passive work capture across multiple application surfaces, and automation of legal billing workflows. The platform is designed as a human-in-the-loop system - attorneys review generated entries before releasing them into existing billing systems, preserving a firm's review and approval process rather than replacing it.
Ajax reports that customers capture 12% more billable time using the platform, and that more than 90% of firms subscribe after a pilot. Hundreds of law firms use the product. Beyond timekeeping, the company is developing further applications - including email filing, client updates, reporting, profitability management and pricing - intended to form a broader operating system for modern law firms.
