aurivus develops AI software that turns 3D laser scans of industrial facilities and buildings into intelligent digital twins. Its systems automatically recognise, measure and analyse objects in point clouds, removing much of the manual modelling that has traditionally slowed down scan-to-BIM and plant documentation work. The company was founded in 2019 in Ulm, Germany, as a spin-off of the University of Ulm's Institute of Measurement, Control and Microelectronics, and draws on research in autonomous driving.
The technical work spans 3D computer vision, deep learning, point cloud processing and analysis, digital twin technology and sensor fusion, with additional expertise in measurement and control engineering. The main product, the Point Cloud Intelligence Platform, is a web-based interface for planners, operations and management that recognises and measures objects in scan data and links them with existing information. The company reports time savings of over 90% by eliminating manual modelling. A companion Revit plug-in for Autodesk Revit accelerates scan-to-BIM workflows and is designed for plug-and-play integration with existing processes.
aurivus sells into plant engineering, architecture and construction (AEC), and building operations and facility management, with customers in 56 countries. The company describes itself as research-driven and has won the DB Mindbox competition. Its stated focus areas include sustainable, efficient use of resources and smooth integration into established engineering workflows.
