Awesome Inc is a startup accelerator and technology hub based in Lexington, Kentucky, founded in 2009. Its technical work runs through APAX Software, a software arm that delivers custom web and mobile app development for clients, drawing on in-house capabilities in web development, mobile app development and custom software development. The organisation also operates an 18,000-square-foot coworking space in downtown Lexington that houses entrepreneurs, innovators, learners and builders.
The company's Fellowship Startup Accelerator has accelerated nearly 100 companies, which between them have raised over $240m in outside investment and created more than 1,000 jobs. Alongside it, the 5 Across Pitch Competition gives entrepreneurs five minutes or less to present their business ideas. These programmes form part of a broader effort to grow the startup and technology ecosystem across Central Kentucky.
Awesome Inc U provides coding education for both youth and adults, including a Web Developer Bootcamp with guaranteed job placement and a reported 90% success rate. The company states that it was founded on a 'give-first' mentality, with a mission to help people pursue their definition of awesome and a focus on supporting the regional community of builders and learners.
