About

We're the team behind Chess.com, the world's largest chess platform where over 235 million players come to play, learn, and connect through the game we love. What started in 2005 as two college friends' dream of creating a better online chess home has grown into something we never could have imagined - a place where 10+ million games are played every single day.

Our team of 650+ people works entirely remotely from 60+ countries, united by a mission to help people enjoy their lives through chess. We believe in kindness, continuous learning, and creating joyful experiences. Beyond the main platform, we've built a family of products including ChessKid for young players, Chessable for learning, and we've welcomed chess24, Play Magnus Apps, and AimChess into our community. We're not just building software - we're growing the game, supporting world-class players and coaches, and creating a space where chess fans everywhere can feel at home.
