The platform has achieved substantial scale. It integrates with 75% of electronic health record systems, connects to over 50,000 pharmacies, and is used by more than 950,000 healthcare providers. CoverMyMeds works with most major health plans and pharmacy benefit managers. In June 2025, the company acquired RxLightning to expand its capabilities in specialty medication access. CoverMyMeds now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of McKesson Corporation.
The technical infrastructure supports APIs and integrations across EHR systems, pharmacy networks, and payer systems. The platform processes prior authorizations at scale, helping reduce prescription abandonment and accelerate the time from prescription to patient therapy.
