The process uses renewable electricity and chemistry to transform ore, bypassing the high-temperature, carbon-intensive methods of traditional blast furnaces. Conventional steelmaking accounts for approximately 10% of global carbon dioxide emissions, a figure the company's technology aims to address.
The patented system operates at low temperatures and can process a broad range of iron ores, including those not currently commercialized. During the process, the system captures high-value critical co-minerals and emits oxygen.
