Logistikbude GmbH builds standardized software for load carrier management - pallets, containers and racks - replacing Excel, paper and email-based tracking with automated data integration. The platform ingests data from existing systems, applies AI document reading to paper paperwork, and provides real-time visibility into where assets are. A mobile capture app lets dock staff record movements in seconds, while automated partner reconciliation handles the monthly accounting with counterparties that is otherwise done by hand.
The technical stack spans AI/OCR for document reading, RFID and IoT for asset tracking, mobile application development, systems integration and automated data ingestion, and reconciliation automation. The approach is deliberately technology-agnostic: the platform is designed to work with any load carrier and any underlying tracking technology. Reported outcomes for customers include reduced shrinkage of up to 40% and an 80% cut in administrative workload.
The company was founded in 2021 and spun out of Fraunhofer IML, the Dortmund-based research institute for logistics. Its founding team of four comprises two business founders and two technical leads. Headquartered in Dortmund, it serves around 40 customers across Europe, spanning logistics, freight forwarding, reusable load carrier and pool management, and warehousing. The company's stated premise is drawn from watching firms struggle with reusable logistics: front-line work should be simple to record, and the administrative follow-up should not be manual.
