Nuon, founded in 2021 and headquartered in San Francisco, has developed what it describes as the first general-purpose Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) platform. The technology allows software vendors to deploy their products directly into customers' own AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud accounts, rather than running them on the vendor's own infrastructure. This approach addresses growing demand from enterprise customers who want software to run within their own cloud environments for security, compliance, or data-residency reasons.
The Nuon BYOC Platform handles the full lifecycle of such deployments. It manages initial provisioning, continuous delivery, policy enforcement, customer approval workflows, and audit logging across all three major cloud providers. The product is designed so that software vendors can offer single-tenant deployments without building and maintaining the underlying infrastructure themselves.
Technical work at Nuon spans cloud deployment, Infrastructure as Code, and continuous delivery, among other domains. The company has raised $16.5 million in seed and Series A funding. Its platform is open source under the AGPLv3 license, a choice the company frames as a commitment to transparency.
