The Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OMEP) is a business consulting and training organisation that works with small and mid-sized manufacturers across Oregon. Its technical work spans lean manufacturing, value stream mapping, digital standard work, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, digital marketing and workforce development. Consultants work directly alongside client teams on implementation, rather than delivering recommendations alone, with an emphasis on practical, implementable solutions and improvements that can be sustained over time.
Services include hands-on lean manufacturing implementation, value stream mapping to identify and eliminate waste in production processes, and Office Lean, which applies the same principles to administrative work. Technology Adoption Advisory helps clients evaluate and adopt technologies such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, digital standard work and ERP systems. Further offerings cover leadership training, sales process development, fractional and digital marketing, workforce development, financial planning and strategic execution support.
OMEP's consultants have a combined total of more than 500 years of real-world experience, spanning shop floor and executive leadership roles. The organisation is part of the NIST national Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) network and is supported by the Oregon state government, with a stated mission of strengthening Oregon businesses and the communities they serve. Its work is oriented towards measurable, real-world outcomes for manufacturers in Oregon, United States.
