Our founders James Agnew and Duncan Weatherston met in 2011 while working on health integration and data repository projects, recognizing the industry's need for an efficient, interoperable, and secure solution for shared health data. Today, Smile Digital Health delivers a FHIR®-first Health Data Platform that enables organizations to meaningfully share structured health data. We support over 120 customers across 20+ countries, including major payers, legacy HIEs, providers, and research organizations. Our platform transforms legacy data into future-proof FHIR resources - free from vendor lock-in - while maintaining enterprise performance and complete data ownership for our clients.
