TouchTunes builds and operates connected music and entertainment hardware and software for bars, restaurants and other social venues. Founded in 1998, when it launched with a library of 750 songs, the company pioneered the commercial digital jukebox category and now describes itself as the largest digital jukebox and in-venue interactive music and entertainment platform in North America. More than 95,000 connected devices are deployed across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
Engineering work spans several domains: connected devices and IoT, native mobile development for iOS and Android, digital payments, music and audio streaming, interactive entertainment software and location-based services. Product lines include the Virtuo, Angelina and Fusion commercial jukeboxes, each offering hundreds of thousands of songs; the TouchTunes mobile app, which lets users find nearby venues, control the jukebox remotely, build playlists and earn rewards, and which serves millions of music fans weekly; TouchTunes Pay, a digital payment layer for in-venue experiences; and BullShooter electronic dartboards, extending the platform beyond music.
The company works with more than 2,500 amusement operators, providing maintenance, support and service for deployed hardware. Its stated focus is on shared social experiences in physical venues.
