Vinted operates Europe's largest online C2C marketplace for second-hand fashion, serving millions of members who trade clothing, kids' items, luxury handbags, electronics and books every day. Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, the company employs over 2,200 people and covers more than 20 markets across Europe and North America, with additional offices in Amsterdam, Berlin, Hamburg and Paris.
The technology work spans four main domains: online marketplace technology, logistics and shipping network technology, payments technology and e-commerce platform development. Three products sit at the centre of this. Vinted Marketplace is the consumer-facing trading platform. Vinted Go handles shipping, drawing on a network of more than 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points and partnerships with over 60 carriers. Vinted Pay provides secure, reliable payments for buyers and sellers across Europe.
Vinted is venture capital backed, with investors including Accel, EQT Growth, Insight Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners; it became Lithuania's first unicorn in 2019. The company's stated mission is to make second-hand the first choice worldwide, with a focus on making the most of what people already have. It was founded out of a simple personal problem: a founder with too many clothes to move.
