In 2011, our founder Eric Yuan had a vision: to make video communications frictionless. After years of experiencing frustrating, clunky video conferencing tools as a software engineer, he realized the world needed a better way to connect. So he left a comfortable position to build Zoom from the ground up, starting with just 40 engineers who shared his dream of delivering happiness through seamless communication.
