In 2015, Michael Lukaszczyk and Daniel Winter met while working together and discovered they shared a frustration with traditional content management systems. Building modern multichannel products meant wrestling with rigid, outdated platforms that could not keep pace with the demands of digital teams. They realized the industry needed a fundamentally different approach - a content platform built for the API-first era that could deliver content seamlessly across every channel and device.
So they set out to create the world's first GraphQL-native CMS, founding what would become Hygraph in Berlin. Their vision transformed into a platform that empowers developers and content teams to structure, manage, and distribute content at global scale without the friction of legacy systems. Today, Hygraph's remote-first team spans continents, united by the mission to eliminate complexity and help teams scale content operations with the confidence of AI-powered automation and federated content capabilities.
