Penfield Children's Center is a nonprofit child development center based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Founded in 1967, it provides integrated early education, health, behavioral health, therapy, nursing and family support services to children with and without disabilities. The organization serves more than 2,000 children annually.
The centre operates across three overlapping fields: child development and early education, pediatric healthcare and therapy, and nonprofit human services. Its approach combines medical, educational and therapeutic services within a single setting, delivering them in what it describes as a safe, stimulating environment. Programming is inclusive, serving children with and without disabilities side by side.
Penfield Children's Center is named after Dr. Wilder Penfield, a neurosurgeon who advocated early intervention for children with developmental delays and disabilities. Its founding philosophy is drawn from his words: "Never underestimate the capacity of the very young, and never, never let them down." The organization reports more than five decades of leadership in child development. Further information is available at https://penfieldchildren.org/.
