Rainmaker Technology Corporation, founded in 2023 by Augustus Doricko and based in El Segundo, California, develops cloud seeding technology intended to enhance precipitation and address water scarcity. The company's stated mission is to steward the natural world and make freshwater available to farms, ecosystems, and communities affected by drought.
The company's technical work spans several engineering domains: weather-resistant unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), radar systems, weather awareness platforms, cloud seeding and precipitation enhancement, and precipitation validation and measurement. Its drone platform delivers seeding agents directly into suitable clouds; according to the company, one gram of cloud seeding agent generates over 10,000 gallons of rainfall. An integrated radar targeting system identifies clouds suitable for seeding, supported by weather awareness platforms.
Rainmaker has reported producing over 143 million gallons of unambiguously man-made precipitation. Its proprietary precipitation validation systems measure and physically verify the rainfall generated by seeding operations. The company states it is the first private company in history to have physically validated the results of cloud seeding.
Rainmaker operates across applications in water security, agriculture, ecosystem restoration, and drought mitigation.
