Bamboo Card, founded in 2018 and headquartered in Dubai, operates digital rewards infrastructure that lets businesses distribute gift cards and incentives across borders. The platform's catalogue covers more than 3,500 gift card brands in over 80 countries and 49 currencies, and it processes over 100,000 transactions a day. The company says more than $1 billion in digital rewards has been distributed through it, with 95% of orders fulfilled in under two seconds.
The engineering work centres on a payments-adjacent stack built around a single API that customers use to embed products into their own applications. Alongside the API sit a self-service portal for bulk purchasing, an embeddable mini app for in-application reward distribution, and an arrangement for one-off enterprise bulk orders. Integrating a large, multi-country, multi-currency catalogue and meeting sub-two-second fulfilment targets are the underlying technical problems.
The company serves over 1,000 active clients across fintech, loyalty platforms, HR technology, digital commerce, employee rewards and recognition, and customer acquisition programmes. It has a presence in the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia Pacific, North America, the Middle East and Latin America.
